I am, first and foremost, a wife and mom. I’ve been married almost 24 years to my high school sweetheart. My daughter is 21, just about to finish up her senior year of college, and my son will be 17 in June. My fur baby (long-haired dachshund) is 11. I am an avid reader; I will try just about any genre, but nonfiction makes me feel like I’m back in school and I have a hard time concentrating on stuff that feels like school. Some of my current favorite authors are Lisa Gardner, Karin Slaughter, and Dean Koontz. I volunteer in a grade school library, so I also read a lot of young adult books.

I started writing when I was a little girl, but most people told me I’d never be a real writer and I should focus on something else in school. So I earned a BS in political science with a minor in psychology and later earned an MSE. I worked in the early childhood field before deciding to stay at home with my own children.
