I retired after 33 years as a GP in Scotland. The amazing, and at times eye-opening, array of human experiences that I encountered has left my head full of stories, and so I started to write — the result is Miles Away.
My interest in people and their minds means psychology has a heavy influence on my stories, and like our brains, Miles Away is full of twists and turns. I thought publication of one book would be enough for me, but instead I feel more stories coming on.
I live in Stirling, Scotland with my wife Helen and our cocker spaniel. When I am not writing — and I can hear Helen asking ‘when is that?’ — I enjoy gardening, walking, a little cooking, and relaxing. And reading, of course. I particularly enjoy James Robertson’s books, and James Lee Burke, as well as books by other people not called James.
